WELCOME TO THE THAMES SAILING CLUB

Sail  training - Dinghy racing - Keeler racing - Marina and haul-out facilities

Another great day sailing for the 7 yachts that turned out for the day.

The steady E breeze made for some very fair sailing conditions, especially for handicap racing. The RACE CONTROLLER had a few issues with arriving on time, exacerbated by running out of fuel in his outboard on the way out to his yacht and then discovering he had left his phone back in the car. Fortunately, the fuel for the outboard was on the yacht. As a consequence, the forecast race time of 11 am was delayed by 30 minutes.

Div B set out 10minutes before Div A and the lead two boats in Div B held off a fast charging Trifecta who was relishing the conditions and crossed the line with Dawn Song 1st and Anitra 2nd. Special FX just held off Wright One at the line with Libby a few seconds behind. Kilmarnock still has teething problems and retired untried for the day to be replaced by Slice of Heaven for the 2nd race.

For the 2nd race the delay between divisions was reduced to 7 minutes and although Slice of Heaven was a bit late at the start she showed her pedigree and managed to make 2nd place for line honours behind Trifecta. Dawn Song and Anitra had a real battle, with Dawn Song just taking line honours by 6 seconds. Special FX managed to hold off a fast spinnaker finish from Wright One with Libby a few seconds behind.
See you all in a fortnight, don’t forget , start time will be 11am
